Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Power Systems team. This role is critical in designing and optimizing the high-voltage and medium-voltage infrastructure for our utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in power electronics, grid interconnection standards, and system modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and review electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and equipment layouts for utility-scale projects (up to 100MW).
- Perform power flow, short circuit, arc flash, and transient stability studies using industry-standard software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP).
- Ensure all designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NERC, and local utility interconnection requirements.
- Collaborate with the project management and construction teams to provide technical support during the execution phase.
- Specify and evaluate major electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, inverters, and protection relays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems design, preferably in renewable energy or utility environments.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
- Expert knowledge of grid codes and interconnection processes (e.g., CAISO, ERCOT).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical modeling software.
